I've been trying to get some knowledge into this, because from what I've seen, it makes no sense on how they pick a channel for partnership.
I did apply myself a couple of weeks ago and got rejected by a default message such as:
"Because automatic transcoding (quality options) is so resource-intensive, we reserve the program for channels which already have a large, established following, and pull many concurrent viewers each time they are live. While we would like to support any and all gaming channels, we must also be selective with whom we allow into the Partner Program. Unfortunately, you do not yet meet our baseline requirements".
Also saying: If you feel you have been wrongly deferred from the Partner Program, please let us know why your channel deserves to be accepted. Which I haven't got any reply so far.
For the last days I've seen a lot of channels that average around 20-30 viewers and around 300-400 followers getting partnerships, while I sit on 150 average viewers for over 7-8 hours but yet my channel doesn't qualify.
I don't know if the admin who look into my apply was having a bad day or there are more reasons behind, because IT MAKES NO SENSE.
With that being said, if anyone have some ideas why I got rejected and some channels with low viewers are getting partnership I would gladly appreciate it.
It's possible that staff manually made a stream partner, however the policy dictates that you have 400 concurrent, non-peak viewers to be partnered. Keep in mind that some partners may be part of a team that has been partnered.
Without viewing your application it's hard to make any other judgment on to why you were denied though, sorry :(
