background design question

Hi I was just wanting to know how wide the area with the player and chat is? I'm trying to make a custom Background for my girl and I'd like to make it have a extra special design at the edges of the middle part. Thanks in advance.

when i make a background i always make it 1920x1080 which makes the two sides 470px each

Your page might be longer than 1080 if you have lots of text/ images in your info section!

ok thanks, my Girl uses a 1600 BG design since thats the width of her monitor, but that gives me an idea of the size the middle portion, plus I just learned how to make a stainless steel look while waiting for a reply, and thanks again.

was just about to say that, if you goolge stainless steel and brushed aluminium some of the images pop up for both results. :s

I figured out how to make a silver shiny metal look its in the gradient you click on the gradient then more option then chose metal like in this pic

then theres the silver one and in this pic it shows what the result was
