Streaming free tracks from Soundcloud;

I have stumbled across many great tracks from indie artists that are free to download, but this whole copyright issue is so confusing... I don't know if I can use it or not even with it being free to download for everyone. Any help? (http://soundcloud.com/revolvr/fun-we-are-young-revolvr-1 this track for example)

For soundcloud you can't use them unless they're licensed under a license that lets you transmit them, ie: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ ( There are variations! ), or "No Rights Reserved"

And in a search you can search for specific requirements in the license, ie: free to use commercially, must be Creative commons, or must be No Rights Reserved ( This search lists all NRR tracks )

Indeed you can;

Free to Transmit

This is what allows you to use the music in a video / livestream.

However you cannot use it if you are a partner due to the "not for commercial use" bit
