Sound from microphone, no sound from game

I am using Xsplit, and have Windows XP. When I stream, I only hear my voice- the only sound it picks up is sound from my headphones. Is there a way to make sound from my game play? Whenever I use Stereo Mix, it doesn't have any sound. Also, my headphones are not USB headphones, rather, they're the cheap $15 ones that only have a headphone and microphone jack. Any help for this would be great. Thanks.

Xsplit doesn't automatically capture the PC sounds on XP as it does on Vista or later. For that, you will have to upgrade for the newest OS.

Stereo mix with analog input headphones should work on XP. Do you use integrated sound card on your motherboard?
  • Yes, I'm using the integrated sound card.

Stereo Mix should work then. Make sure you select it as a microphone device in Xsplit. Other than that, you need to unmute your microphone so you hear yourself in the headphones, that was Stereo Mix will pick it up too and you will be heard on your cast aslong with your Game/PC sounds.
  • I'll try it again. Thanks for the help.

EDIT: I have stereo mix enabled, and computer sound is coming out fine, but now it isn't picking up my microphone. I can't select stereo mix in the sound options either, all that comes up are "SoundMAX HD Audio" and "None".

You need to unmute your microphone so you hear yourself in your headphones. That way, the viewers will hear it since Stereo Mix picks up everything you hear in your headphones.
  • Alright, thank you very much.
