Guide: How to upload long streams to YouTube (Longer than 2 hours)

Greetings,

So you have a long stream session you wish to export to YouTube:

But twitch.tv only uploads the first 2 hours?

There is a workaround!

Step 1: Pretend you want to Highlight:

Step 2: Click the next part:

Step 2b: Notice how the URL is different for each part?

Step 3: Remove /highlight from after the URL:

Step 3b: And go to that URL:

Step 3c: Notice how the video starts 2 hours in:

Step 4: Click Upload now:

Step 4b: I uncheck split, as I prefer my videos to be in big 2 hours long segments instead of 9×15 minutes long parts:

(Ultimately, I'd prefer it to be in one huge 17 hours long segment but I don't know how to do that.)

Step 4c: It will upload a 2 hours long video that is perfectly the next part of your stream.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 until all parts are uploaded.

A minor issue/warning: If you have renamed your stream like so:

Then all the parts will retain their old names except the first one. So make sure you rename all parts to the correct name on YouTube afterwards.

And on the same day I wrote this tutorial, twitch.tv already changed the way uploading works. Hopefully my in-progress uploads will not be affected.

Some of my screenshots might be out of date too.

Well it isn't working for me, and you yourself said twitch.tv already changed the way uploading works.

I've tried it about 5 times now within 2 days and it hasn't worked for me.

The uploader seems to be having issues at the moment, I'd suggest downloading the parts yourself and uploading that way ( Youtube will accept raw FLV uploads, you don't have to convert them simply to upload them )

Sucks I only just realised this bug and didnt realise that it had cut off about half an hour of my stream from YouTube. Thanks for this workaround :)
