My pc crashes while streaming if six cores are enabled on my pc if I disable the sixth core it will not crash can anyone tell me the cause of this issue. Also, I don't over-clock my rig neither. Here is the video of my pc crashing

  • Could it be a heat issue?

you might be better off contacting the shop you got your computer from or AMD technical support.

If disabling the 6th core fixes the problem it's almost certainly a "dead" core, and you need to get the CPU replaced.
  • Well it freezes after 2 hours of streaming and I have a zalman cnps 10x extreme it's only while streaming not anything else I can play games fine but it seems to happen after a while of streaming.
  • just to rule out overheating monitor your temps on cpu and gfx card while your streaming.

My old pc had a similar problem of the screen/pc locking up, it turned out to be the gfx card over heating cus it was full of dust :s

  • Ok it just froze again and these were the temps when it froze http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/2774/imag0002sk.jpg
  • does it freeze when you use 5 cores?
  • nope only 6 I don't know what is causing the issue because I can play games all day long but I can't stream at all
  • hhmm very strange, i cant really see how a streaming program could physically effect your cpu.

i would try and contact AMD tech support and explain that under heavy load your cpu crashes unless you disable one of the cores and they might be able to suggest a course of action or even a simple software update.

sorry but i have no idea

    SORRY :(

I've already told you what it is, you have a dead ( defective ) core. You need to replace the cpu. It's quite obvious considering you're fine if you disable the 6th core.

That may be true but the thing is as I stated early is that I run games at max and play them all day long another guy on another forum was having the same issue it only happens while streaming. For instance, I can play skyrim or gta iv with enb which is very cpu intensive and nothing will happen but if I turn on xsplit or FME the pc will just freeze I don't know if it's the new drivers or what but it only been happening while streaming. Also, I will run a diagnostic test to post more accurateness for lack of better terms.

Run prime95 and see if the core fails.. as @fire said it probably needs to be replaced.

@wapeddell neither of those games takes advantage of multithreading the way streaming does.
  • http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/4313/stablejm.png Ran this on cpu for 5 hours I will try prime next then
  • I ran prime for 2 hours http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5770/74898018.png and these were the temps http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/3687/55366990.png Also, I would like to say that the first time I ran prime95 it froze then I updated my bios and it seems to be working fine now I will post results after I stream for a few hours I think there was a issue with the bios rom I had.

  • I will like to confirm that I was able to stream for several hours with no dilemmas I will try to stream again and see but I think the issue is resolved I'm not sure.
