Flash Player Crash Fix ( Non-Kaspersky )

I had the same issue, the solution which worked for me was allowing flash to store information locally without any verification. I changed this by going into control panel, flash player, storage tab, then selected "allow sites to save information on this computer". I hope this helps, it worked for me. OS-windows xp, browsers-firefox and chrome.

On Windows 7 the process is Control panel -> System and Security -> Flash Player.

I found that you can add www.-cnd.jtvnm.net as Allow and then it works without crashing. No need to allow all, just that one site.

  • Having Flash crashing on my channels now.  Is there some sort of update causing this>
  • The issue I'm having is that I cannot watch any streams. When I click on any stream it says:
You need Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
    Download it from Adobe.

However, I was watching streams perfectly earlier today and when I went to watch another user, it popped up.
  • I am having the same problem Crispy

Except that mine disappears and does not show video. I am updated to the most recent video player. I can hear audio but no video.

  • Same problem here as wells. East Coast/Florida/Firefox latest version/Flash latest version. It's something with the site no doubt.

I have this same problem i have flash player installed and it still tells me i need to install it ive tried reinstallling and nothing seems to work i was watching streams the other day and just started getting this I live in US and my ISP is verizon.  I can see the flash ads fine and everything just no video only sound.
  • Rivaz same thing with me! I switched to Chrome and streams work fine now
  • omge27omge27 Member

yeah actually switching to chrome the stream works id prefer to not use chrome though and am curious why it just all the sudden stopped working when it use to work fine

@omge27 If you use IE, install this small IE plugin: http://www.google.com/chromeframe/

You can then continue to use IE

  • it wont install:(
  • I have this issue aswell, I have tried everything, even allow adobe access everywhere, nothing worked yet, also my damn chat won't load as long as I am logged in on this account, I have a feeling this time it's twitch's problem...
  • I have this problem using IE 9 with black screen but get audio fine,  I have a feeling it's a twitch tv problem as other sites seem to work ok. my ISP is bt infinity in the uk (75 down 17 up) all the streams work ok with google chrome though.

Same problem. Audio is fine, black screen with brief message about having to install flash. Other flash sites work well.

Worked fine up until yesterday. Google plug in doesn't install either.

Edit: Using IE9. Guess I have to use Chrome just for this site?

@veetoe what do you mean it didn't install? If you click the gear in the top right corner of IE and click Manage Addons, do you not have "ChromeFrame BHO" under Google Inc?
  • Installing google Chrome Frame makes no difference to this problem also tried uninstall and reinsall of IE 9 and flash player and that didn't work, strange that the embedded flash stream on the homepage of twitch tv works ok but all other streams don't.

this happens to me every time

  • do you have sound but no video just black?

does it flash that message for 2 seconds then goes black

check that flash player is enabled in manage add-ons in IE 9

  • I also seem unable to view any stream on Twitch.tv yet all the streams on Justin.tv work fine.  I don't have any other browsers except IE and it is stupid to have to switch browsers just for one specific site.  If this is indeed a Twitch.tv issue then I hope they fix it soon.  I'd hate to have to switch live streaming services, but if the Twitch.tv staff can't get their act together then I may have to consider it.  I have always preferred Twitch over any other service but I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining but I keep having issue after issue with Twitch in the last few months.  Why is it that Justin.tv always seems to work when Twitch.tv does not?  Maybe some of the talented staff on the Justin.tv side needs to help the staff on the Twitch.tv side?  I don't know.  Sorry I don't mean to rant...I will most likely just wait it out.  I'll check the forums later.
  • having same issue they need to fix it

  • It seems to be fixed now for me anyway =D>
  • Same issue however, I can watch the stream on the main page but when I go to wow streams everything is fine except i have a black screen

just download IE plug and it works. Fire posted the link  http://www.google.com/chromeframe/
  • I was having the same problem yesterday and today. Installing the IE plug above worked for me. Thx for posting.
  • I downloaded that chrome frame thingy and it seems to have done nothing to fix the issue.  Anyone have any other ideas or updates to this problem?
