  • I'm trying to watch
http://www.teamliquid.net/video/streams/White-Ra and ads keep loading one after another and there is this half transparent loading as screen that says to disable adblock (i have it turned off) and i can't get rid of it. It's clearly problem on twitch side, because i can watch other streams without such problems, but double ad's happen alot recently. I'm using Chrome.

  • I am having the same problem, and I didnt use an ad-blocker to begin with!  I am having this problem with all browsers.
  • Same problem here.

  • same

  • Same here , thank god Im not the only one
  • Same here. As well certain ads are freezing the stream giving it a black screen in the uk? video ads.
  • Got the same problem, And have to refresh site a few times before it works.
  • Same here. Some streams will work after a refresh, but some will just not load even after restarting the pc.

The funny thing is that the screen doesn't resize so when i full screen i can see most of the stream...  http://snag.gy/0ReGJ.jpg

  • Hey Tech Support Guy/Gal/People!

There's a weird (and unfortunately inconsistent) glitch occurring when I'm watching others' streams.  Normally, whenever I load up a stream, after 5-10 seconds an ad pops up.  Occasionally, I'll load up the stream and after 5-10 seconds the stream will get faded out and it will say "Ad loading" and something along the lines of "If you want to get rid of this screen, upgrade your account", but the ad never actually loads or displays, and after 5 more seconds or so, the stream fades back in and displays as normal, but I never see an ad!  This also happened in the middle of a stream I was watching when the streamer decided to run an ad; Stream fades out, get the "ad loading" message, and shortly after the stream fades back in as though an ad successfully ran.

Relevant info: I'm using Firefox, but I'm not using any kind of ad-blocker program (never have).  If you need any followup info I'll be checking back in a while, and I'll check in sometime tomorrow as well.

Also, I'm not sure how related this is, but jEcho (http://www.twitch.tv/jEchoTV) was apparently having some trouble with ads where his editors couldn't run them.

    Thanks for looking into this!
  • Hi,
So I've been watching Starcraft2 for awhile on youtube and since you started Twitch, I've been addicted.
More and more I'm having trouble with ads. They slow everything on my computer. They look heavy.
My computer is great and my internet is super fast (Download speed of 30 Mbps, upload speed of 2 Mbps).
And your the only website where this is happening.

Please let me know why it's like that or when it should be fixed.

    Thank you

  • I am trying to watch a video on twitch of a prerecorded stream and when it goes to the first ad as soon as you start the vid it will not play.  Just a black screen with a spinning  icon.  No way to skip the ad, so i can't start the video.  I have tried it on two different streamers and both have the same issue.  Did not have this problem yesterday.  I can see the start of the vid but once the ad tries to load, nothing.
  • I'm having the same problem, I don't usually mind ads that much but when they just disable the stream it's pretty annoying.

  • I can see the ads on the live streams but not recorded ones.
  • I had this issue.  I found that it only happens when I am on the 360p resolution setting.
  • yeah having same issue and changing resolution does not help.

@extreme74 @thorin1337 @redpotion what browser do you guys use? Do you have any plugins installed? If so, which ones? Do you have noscript or adblock running?
  • Is this a joke? It's like a 90 second ad that you can't skip...

@serennia1 You usually can't skip the ads since they support the broadcaster, and twitch doesn't decide specifically what kind of ads are running, advertisement partners provide the ads.

Hi, on all channels I tried to watch I recently encounter an issue.
The streams work well but when the ad start the screen just stay black with a message : "click on play to watch the video".
There is no play button or else and the only solution I found was to refresh but after 4sec of video the ad comes again and I can't skip this black screen.
Anybody have been experiencing the same problem? Or have a solution?
  • @PIPe But why would twitch even allow such an obscenely long ad? It's basically a full trailer when other ads never exceed 30 seconds

Chromium 19.0.1052.0 (Developer Build 123483 Windows)
    Adobe Flash Player  11,1,102,62
    location France
  • Im in France too (Paris) ...
  • The problem is still there... can someone fix it :S

Maybe the streamer plays 2 ads basically at the same time by "spamming" the ad button. That usually triggers 2 commercials and stuff like this can happen.

Does this happen on firefox/IE? Have you tried disabling chrome's built-in flash player to see if that solves the issue?
  • Report by clicking on the thing under the stream ? If it is that, I already did everytime since yesterday :S
