Thank you for all of your hard work, I know it can be very difficult at times to get things done when people give you guys a lot of trouble, and Catreina definitely seems to be out of line a little.
@Horror - censorship of any kind is not "small" nor is this "overreacting"
According to what you are now saying, SOPA is not worth reacting to.... because censorship isnt a big deal. I mean, why make a stink about CENSORSHIP? The admins say it isnt a big deal because it is only temporary? Why not just keep my mouth shut and not let my grievances out in the open? I mean, it isnt -really- censorhip is it.... because the ADMINS claim it is being built.
Guess what - it takes X time to make a censorship part of a script. And it takes Y time to make a TOGGLE TO TURN IT OFF - I program too guys, implementing censorship of any form without the ability to TURN IT OFF is a VERY big deal. Whether you try to brush it aside because it is "only temporary" or not. I will indeed continue to let the fact that this is unacceptable very known because it is CENSORSHIP.
I was having the same issue today in my stream. I never touched that option to turn the filter on, but it was on today in my chat. When I went to turn the filter off, the option was not there. Kind of annoying.
yeah censorship is definitely a problem, i think its irresponsible for JTV/Twitch to implement a filter that censors any kind of speech without a way to turn it off.
I simply hope for a functional chat soon. I've not been selected for the beta it seems, but I do not mind. I just hope things are implemented soon. I hope you guys get caught up with all the bugs, and the chat is then turn live for all to use this week as projected.
I am still fairly new to this, and I do have a small following that I interact with on a regular basis. So I hope to do so without drops, and viewers getting randomly kicked from the room. It is hurting the growth of my channel, and I truly hope to become a partner one day.
So keep on working hard, but I hope these issues will be cleared up this week. Well, at least for the most part.
@figcoinc All of the Twitch chats are now on the beta/new chat server. I just double-checked your channel and it is on the beta chat.
For anyone having the censorship issue, make sure it's disabled in your settings. If it is disabled and you're still getting it, enable it, then disable it.
Twitch will never ever force censorship or any way your channel is ran other than the Terms of Service which are very straight forward.
@Itaku Oh really? Ok, I thought it was still in the selection process. My mistake. Well, if I find any more issues that are not listed in this thread I will make sure to list them. I know you guys can use all the constructive feedback you can get in order to fix issues.
I streamed last night, and the main issue I noticed is that my viewer list did not match up with who was in the room. Not sure if that is just a bug, or just a unavoidable issue with server and updating that portion. It would say I had 20 people in the room when I only had 10-12. I tend to enjoy welcoming new visitors and sometimes miss a few that wander in that do not appear on my viewer list.
Thanks again for the hard work you folks are putting in. I am sure it is stressful time, and the internet tends to not have patience.

That would probably be during the rollout when that happened, if you were on the old chat when the rollout happened, people would stay on that, but anyone that refreshes/just then comes to the channel wouldve went to the new chat.

Viewer list mismatch is also a known bug with tmi, it'l get fixed :)

Of course you realize that no such setting that allows the chat filter to be turned off, actually exists. I just wanted to point that out.
Uh I'm not sure what this is but I'm a mod at http://www.twitch.tv/airika chat, I went in to chat and at first everything was fine except a few censor problems then suddenly out of no where whenever I post it doesn't show up to anyone or to her. It shows up to me and I can see everything everyone is typing and click links and still have modship I just can't type anything.
It's very frustrating and I wish I knew what it was any ideas? (by the way I scanned for malware, restarted computer cleared cache signed on with another account I've done everything anyone can think of but nothing has worked)
I have this problem in my chat, that if someone posts a link, it gets deleted and it just says <message deleted>, I added Moobot a while ago and even though now I dont have moobot on my channel, or it is unmoded, still all the links gets deleted. Is there anyone who might help?
I would just like to point out the irony in deleting my post about the new censorship filter that has been added to the chat stream.
Try scrolling up and reading, your thread was merged into this thread, and you failed to separate your most recent post from the post you were trying to quote.

If it's "message deleted" then a moderator is deleting the links, check the mod activity log in your dashboard. If it says "deleted link" then you have links disabled.
Well apparently I tested it today and it's been fixed. I'll see if it happens again (hopefully not) by the way your doing a great job getting to people. Good luck guys.
holy hell the amount of salt in this thread would set a salt miner straight for life. they never said there would NEVER be an option to remove censorship, they just said it'd take some time. It's a free service, keep your pants on people. A quality stream should be a higher priority than complaining over the fact you can't read the word "fuck" in chat.

Strange, I can't find the option in the Twitch settings....

Snowy, thanks.
As for anyone that feels the same as Catreina, I'm sorry that things take time, and don't finish automatically without us doing them.

error: NOTICE unknown command
This is spammed constantly when using mirc with the nonamescript. The chat itself works fine tho
