TwitchTV Background Template

I made a quick background template to simplify creating backgrounds for your TwitchTV channel. The white area is what is normally visible, the black is hidden by the center column and the grey is only visible when you scroll down on the page. Also be mindful of the small drop shadow produced by the center column.

You can modify your channel design here.

Yet me know if you see any problems with the template.

Update!

Created a temporary template for the new design. The design may change so keep that in mind before you go crazy with a new design.

Note: The new background is stationary and will scroll with the page. This is different from how the old design used to be.

  • As someone who does a lot of designs for other people's channels this will come in handy.

    thanks!
  • how do you put a banner and stuff on your channel?

@yjzz - Currently you have to do that over on the main Justin.tv site until the page on Twitch is finished. I added a link to it in the first post.
  • Your website is down, please use a permanent file host like min.us or mediafire
  • @incendiarymedia - No, image sharing sites such as Min.us don't support PSD files and I refuse to use Mediafire for obvious reasons. Also, my webserver was never down. I had some DNS related issues and it was fixed within minutes. You used need to wait for your LNS to update to the new nameservers.
  • Thanks for linking it. I was searching for weeks in the Internet how I can add a Background and  Header. When I click on the Option "Design" in my Account Settings it says "coming soon", so I thought that I MIGHT need a Pro Account for it. Would be great if you could maybe make it more obvious where this option is.
  • Ah, this is PERFECT! Thanks for the template!!
  • Yes actually min.us does support psd files. min.us supports every type of file :p

Don't know what you have against mediafire, though.
  • @incendiarymedia - No direct download and ads.
  • thanks :) noob has work to do now.
  • Can someone make me a background?
  • I have a question reguarding HTML code in the long bio section of your profile.  It seems that area filters some HTML by rejecting or modifing it, while accepting some.

    Can this be explained?

I personally am trying to add a image map from image-maps.com and the code generated is getting rejected.

HTML <map> tags are not accepted; the bio area only accepts a limited selection of HTML.
  • you wouldn't happen to have a template for the banner do you?
  • FireFire Moderator
@er0ded There's nothing to really template for the banner, it's just a 640px by 125px image.

  • Thanks for this!
  • Does this work for After effects? Casue I hade a template that is the same as this one and everything I did on my backround was over scaled and large so you couldn't see them kinda, and I followed the template?

    Help please
  • I dont want this shit pages I want to make my own channel background with lot of faces from a game this kind of stuf !!!!!!!!!!!!!

@naughtyboy94 what? This is a template, you make your OWN background using this as a guide for positioning.
  • I set mine background to 1920x1080 and its way too big, but if I change it to anything smaller it repeats even when I check "don't repeat."
  • @bravegoat  Are you using 72 resolution?  Also, if you're using Photoshop, try going to "File>Save for Web and Devices" and make some adjustments there.
  • It really isn't that hard to do! It's a matter of playing around a little with the previews! I have dedicated a good amount of time creating Youtube, Facebook and Twitter backgrounds. Twitch.tv is not that big of a challenge.

ps: thank you, bgeorge, for the template! It helped out!

@piotrlysek you made the image too large or your screen is too small.
  • Twitch is pretty easy to make backgrounds on in my opinion. You just gotta know what your doing that's all (: http://www.twitch.tv/dracorath
  • How do you use the PNG one??
  • FireFire Moderator
@jdarsey you would lower it's opacity or change it's blending mode so you can see through it.
  • the uploading tool is absolutely broken. To upload a background i have been sat for over 20mins, hitting upload, upload, upload, upload - the sit says it has been save - and then tada the channel page has not changed at all. Then as soon as I upload something I do not want, it automatically uploads. It is a joke.
