Mobile Site

Will twitchtv be creating a mobile site for browsers. I know you already have apps and so but what about a mobile site like m.twitchtv.com

  • I was was going to suggest something similar for broadcasters, so we can see out chat from our phone. Or, maybe just a chat app.

If you can find an IRC app for your phone, you should be able to connect to TwitchTV chat.  Simply use the format "channelname.jtvirc.com" on port 6667.  You need to supply your Twitch username as your nickname and your Twitch password as the server password.
  • I really hope so,I'm kinda annoyed because the app doesn't support 2nd gen iPods anymore...

As far as I know they are in the thinking phase of something like this due to HTML5 not supporting their streaming protocol (yet?) To make their iOS apps work they are currently making some very expensive conversions that I'm guessing can't be done cost effective in mass scale like a mobile site
  • I would thoroughly enjoy a mobile site, because the phone app for my Galaxy S2 is absolutely horrible. Regardless of what resolution I steam in, and how good my phone's wifi connection is, after about 3-4 minutes of streaming, without fail, it ALWAYS starts stuttering intensely, and only fixes if you restart the app. So a mobile site would be a huge improvement. And no, my phone wifi doesn't suck, I can stream directly from www.solomid.net  just fine and never have a problem
  • chat doesnt work for my ipad

  • Chat doesn't work on my iPad either...
  • Im on a mobile and i cant watch streams but i can watch videos what do i do???
  • We definitely need this since twitch.tv is unable to fix their crappy ios app.
  • Another useless update for iOS thanks guys
